Are you a current or former sex worker who would like to see your experiences and ideas included on swaay.org? We welcome your participation! Since SWAAY is a US-focused web site, this call is open to American sex workers, and sex workers who have worked in the US, regardless of immigration status.

SWAAY is looking for three different types of short submissions: personal stories about your life as a sex worker, advice on how to by an ally, and tips for clients and customers about how they have be respectful and ethical. If your submission is included on the site, we'll mail you a 10-pack of our pro-sex worker stickers.

A note from SWAAY founder Furry Girl: With all types of short writing submissions, I am asking for a photo with your face to accompany your words. While I realize this policy does exclude some sex workers who are not "out," I consider it important to demonstrate that we are real, relatable people. Anonymous text, and anonymous pleas for respect, just don't carry the same weight. The media de-personalizes and stereotypes us, and I want to show, both with writing and photographs, that sex workers are not a monolith, and we look like anyone else a person might know in their neighborhood. If you're not comfortable showing a photo of your face online, there are plenty of other ways you can be a part of the sex workers' rights movement.

For personal stories:

* You must be a current or former sex worker.
* About 120 words (see our word count tool at the bottom of the page).
* This is open to American sex workers and non-citizens who work or have worked in the US.
* A G-rated headshot photo, which will be put alongside your text.
* Your preferred display name for the site, and one site link if you'd like that listed.
* Your submission will be construed as you granting SWAAY permission to use your words and image on swaay.org or any other associated materials. Your photograph submission further assures that you own the copyright to the photograph you're submitting, or have obtained permission from the copyright holder. You retain the copyright to your image and text. You also retain the right to have it removed from the web site at any time by emailing the site with your request. Your submission will not be re-worked and edited, but basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors will be corrected.

Your paragraph should cover the following:
* Mention of what types of sex work you do/have done.
* How long you were/are doing that.
* An answer to one or more of the following questions: How did you get into sex work? Why was/is sex work the right option for you? What does/did being a sex worker give you? Has being a sex worker been difficult for you, and how so? How does stigma and criminalization around sex work impact you? What do you want the public to understand about sex work? What other hobbies, projects, and interests do you have? What do you contribute to your communities?
